Calculators

What I can help with

I built the calculators on this site for myself, but writing and looking after software is also what I do for a living. If you have a task along those lines, write to me — I will answer honestly, including when I think you do not actually need it, or that it can be done cheaper another way.

Support and updates for an existing site or shop

It works, but nobody has touched it in a long time: updates are pending, the contact form quietly stops arriving, pages have got slow, something broke after the hosting was upgraded. I can find my way around code someone else wrote and put it back in order — without rewriting the whole thing, which is usually what gets proposed and rarely what is needed.

Automation and integrations

The manual work that comes back every week: moving data between systems, exports, reports, invoices, keeping the shop in step with accounting or stock. Usually it is a few days of work that then saves several days every month, and the arithmetic on whether it pays off is easy to do in advance.

Turnkey development

From the task to a site or application that is actually live: the development, the hosting, the domain, and the part that makes Google find it. This site is the worked example — three calculators, three languages, static files, no database, hosting bill zero.

A one-off consultation

Sometimes you do not need a contractor, you need an hour of conversation: what to choose, what it will come to, whether it is worth doing at all. If it turns out an off-the-shelf service at €20 a month solves your problem, I will tell you that.

How it works

Describe the task in a couple of sentences — I will say whether it is a fit for me and roughly what it means in time and money, before anything starts. Larger jobs get split into stages, so you see a working result well before the whole budget is spent.
